TEACHERS ON SOCIAL MEDIA: 7 TIPS TO TAKE NOTE

The presence of social media is felt globally. As a teacher, it is important to figure out where the line is drawn, in terms of social media posts and comments. Your social media post(s) can make you an inspirational teacher, which could help you attract good fortunes. Likewise, your post(s) can make you lose potentially great opportunities.

Hence, here are a few tips to consider when on social media as a teacher:

1. Be careful of what you represent on social media space. BREAKTHROUGH is attached to your online presence. Many might not see what it represents, but in a few years time, they might not be able to repair the damages they have created. Don’t allow your anger to destroy what you are building.

2. Most private schools, especially class A schools check your social media activities before employment. Majority of job seekers’ social media activities are brand tarnishing. Always remember that, your next job opportunity could hinge on your past social media activities.

3.Clean up your social media. Brace yourself up and position yourself for opportunities. Don’t allow uncultured netizens on social media influence you into comments that can tarnish your image. It is always nice to live in the moment, but do not forget you have a portfolio or profile that you are building.

4.Your next breakthrough employer is paying attention to your behaviours online. Many opportunities abound; your target should be how to secure them.

5.Use social media to build an irresistible portfolio and influence. Your comment(s) on people’s post reflect who you are; not who they are!

6. The comment section could enslave the poorly-minded people to write without thinking, instead of thinking before writing.  When issues arise and you feel like criticizing people, ask yourself if this will matter to who you are becoming 10 years from now.

7. That, others are doing it doesn’t make it right. To receive a KING’S reward, you must exhibit a KING’S behaviour. Be guarded, because the social media space is a limitless one that can send your dreams crushing; but when used right, can propel your profile to dizzying heights!

Nobody hires RISK into their Organization. Hope this meets you well?
